Mars Madness 2018 Eyepiece Rebate for U.S. Customers!

Official Rebate Form

Mars will be growing rapidly in apparent diameter in the weeks up to the big Mars Opposition on July 27, 2018. With Mars peaking this summer, Tele Vue Optics is making it easier to take a peek with rebates on 13mm and shorter focal length eyepieces for customers in the USA, US Territories, and those with APO/FPO Addresses.

It’s important to understand that Mars Opposition is not a one-day event. From June 18th to September 15th – basically the whole summer – the angular diameter of the planet will match or exceed the 18.38-arc-sec diameter  it achieved at the 2016 Opposition.

Furthermore, the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers notes that “Mars will exceed 24-arc-sec in diameter between July 23rd and August 9th, 2018. This is 97 percent of the maximum of 25.13-arc-sec diameter attained during the last of the ‘favorable’ apparitions, which occurred in 2003.” In fact, due to orbital eccentricity, Mars and Earth continue to draw ever-closer after this opposition, with the distance shrinking by another 111,000-miles / 179,000-km when they are nearest on July 31, 2018!

About Tele Vue Eyepieces

4mm DeLite eyepiece with adjustable eyeguard.

Every Tele Vue eyepiece is visually tested at f/4 to ensure the sharpest full field possible. It is the nature of optics that being the best in fast scopes also always assures the best performance in “slow” scopes.  The finest performance requires the finest materials such as high index lanthanum and fluorite type glasses, in some cases costing up to 15x more than ordinary glass types. At Tele Vue we ask “how can we make it better”, rather than “how can we make it cheaper.” We think you’ll agree that the views are worth it. Every eyepiece is fully multi-coated, has blackened lens edges and anti-reflection threads for maximum contrast. Chrome plated barrels, which resist scratching and marring better than black anodized barrels, include safety undercuts and threads for filters. Upper barrels are black anodized aluminum with a rubber grip ring, engraved identification, and fold down rubber eyeguards.

We stand behind our product and are pleased to offer original owners a Lifetime Limited Warranty on all eyepieces, Barlows, and Powermates products.

Learn More About Tele Vue Eyepieces

  • The Tele Vue 50° Plössls (mobile site) are patented to be sharper over a larger field than any competing brands of Plössls or Orthos.
  • Tele Vue 62° DeLite (mobile site) is a mid-to-short focal length line of 20mm eye-relief eyepieces which retains the optical qualities of the Ethos/Delos family and includes a quick adjusting and locking eyeguard, and is Dioptrx-ready.
  • Tele Vue 72° Delos (mobile site) is also mid-to-short focal length line of 20mm eye-relief eyepieces based off the revolutionary Ethos. The Delos series also includes a quick adjusting and locking eyeguard, and is Dioptrx-ready.
  • Tele Vue 82° Naglers (mobile site) approach the wide angle perspective of naked eye vision, while maintaining the highest degree of sharpness, contrast, and viewing comfort. The goal is to allow the telescope to virtually “disappear,” leaving the impact of “spacewalk” viewing.
  • Tele Vue 100° Ethos and 110° Ethos-SX (mobile site) allowed Tele Vue to once again broaden the amateur astronomer’s perspective on the universe with: 100° of pure Tele Vue quality. The field area is more than 50% larger than an 82° field. The Tele Vue Ethos is essentially multiple eyepieces, delivering the true field size of a longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background
  • Tele Vue 50° Nagler 3mm-6mm zoom (mobile site) obtains the highest possible useful magnification on a given night considering the ever-changing atmosphere. This “planetary” eyepiece also has: full field sharpness for any speed telescope, high contrast and transmission for natural color rendition, low scatter, and uniform comfortable eye-relief across its zoom range.
